Did you know that the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce backs positions affecting the regional economy on a federal as well as a provincial level? The Chamber works to develop strong relationships with all levels of governments to amplify the voice of local business owners.

Policy changes and amendments to governmental acts and regulations have a real effect on the lives of people living in the Lakeland. Our advocacy work looks to have a tangible impact on our local economy. Tangible because it improves the quality of life of the citizens of Northeastern Alberta. 

The Cold Lake Chamber has advocated for changes to the following initiatives:

Regional Relief & Economic Stimulation

The Cold Lake Chamber works to ensure Alberta's core and emerging sectors critical to the province's economic recovery have a voice.

Provincial Economic Diversification

Alberta has been the most employment-diversified Canadian province since 1976. In 2019, its labour market was also the most diversified. The Cold Lake Chamber works to ensure this diversity is recognized at the federal level.

Federal Wage Subsidy

When the federal government proposed the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) to offset the economic damage caused by COVID-19, the Cold Lake Chamber became a proponent of changes to the proposal.
